NEXT LEVEL

Another historic day in the soccer world. In the end, the U.S. lost the Confederations Cup to the mighty Brazil. The trophy was within reach when we were once again shocking the world by beating the 5-time World Cup champs 2-0 at halftime. But this is a game of 2 halves, and the end result is the only one that matters.

It's true that American soccer has progressed, and the world now knows exactly who we are and what we're capable of. I take consolation from the experience and respect that has been gained, but the strides we're making shouldn't make us conformists. Now that the world knows we can compete, it's time to win. It's time to take our game to the next level.

The countdown to the World Cup begins now. See you next summer South Africa...
